Seeking specialist care abroad is a significant step, particularly when your condition is complex or you have already undergone scans, investigations or treatment. At Skull Base Specialists, we have extensive experience caring for international self-pay patients and have successfully treated hundreds of individuals from across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Russia over the past decade.
Our service is designed to provide a seamless, consultant-led pathway from the moment you contact us. All referred patients are discussed within a formal, specialist Multidisciplinary Team meeting, ensuring comprehensive evaluation by experts in skull base surgery, neurosurgery, radiology, oncology, pathology and related specialties.
We also participate in international MDT meetings upon request, allowing us to collaborate closely with your clinicians at home and maintain continuity of care across borders.
Most international patients begin with a virtual consultation. In today’s digital world, sharing scans, imaging, blood work and medical reports via email is straightforward, allowing us to review your case thoroughly before you travel. This ensures that your visit to London is efficient, focused and tailored to your needs. If you will need an interpreter present during your medical care, please let us know at your earliest convenience, so we can organise this for you.
You will have a single point of contact who manages appointments, imaging, letters, logistics and follow-up. Our aim is to remove uncertainty and provide a smooth, well-structured experience from start to finish.
Skull Base Specialists review every patient individually; we work as a team to decide what needs to happen and which clinicians will be involved in diagnostics, treatment and aftercare. We frequently work alongside referring surgeons, oncologists and physicians in your home country. This may include joint MDT discussions, shared imaging review, coordinated treatment planning and structured follow-up once you return home.
Before booking flights, patients will be given a schedule of appointments so they fully understand their care pathway. Most patients prefer to book their own flights, accommodation and travel, but we can always provide advice or book executive travel for our patients if needed.
When you arrive in London, you will have streamlined access to high-resolution imaging, endoscopic evaluation and specialist pathology review — ensuring highly accurate diagnosis that guides optimal surgical planning.
Your assessment, treatment and follow-up are delivered by senior consultants with subspecialty expertise in skull base, craniofacial, neurosurgical and reconstructive surgery. This continuity is a hallmark of UK private practice and a key reassurance for international patients. Some patients can have their diagnostics and treatment within the same trip, but this is not always possible and so two trips may be required (or more if the patient would prefer in person follow-up/aftercare from the Skull Base Specialists).
We provide transparent information about expected costs, required investigations and likely timeframes. International patients value clarity, and we ensure you understand what is included at every stage.
Post-treatment care can be delivered in London or in your home country, with remote follow-up available when appropriate. This supports long-term surveillance and continuity of care across borders.
