Skull Base Specialists involved in new publication on repair of traumatic skull base defects

Skull Base Specialists are proud to share that Mr Mark Ferguson is coauthor of newly published paper: Endoscopic Endonasal Repair and Reconstruction of Traumatic Anterior Skull Base Defects. This study explores the use of minimally invasive endoscopic techniques to repair complex traumatic defects of the anterior skull base; an area where precision, anatomical understanding and multidisciplinary collaboration are essential.

The paper includes a case in which Mr Ferguson successfully repaired a significant skull base fracture following an assault, restoring the integrity of the anterior cranial fossa using a fully endonasal approach. The case highlights the effectiveness of modern endoscopic reconstruction in situations that previously required open surgery and demonstrates the expanding role of minimally invasive skull base techniques in trauma management.

Mr Ferguson’s publication reinforces Skull Base Specialist’s position as a centre of excellence in endoscopic skull base surgery, combining highvolume clinical experience with academic contribution.
